This event is a tribute to the men and women who serve our country.  The event is coordinated by the Westmont Park District.  Supporting organizations include People’s Resource Center, Westmont Lions Club, Westmont Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, Westmont High School, Oakwood Homeowner’s Association & the Village of Westmont.

About This Event

This is a chip timed 5K WALK/RUN benefiting People’s Resource Center in Westmont, and Honoring our veterans on Memorial Day Weekend. The event coincides with the Red, White and BBQ weekend. Runners, walkers and strollers (line up at end of starting corral) are all encouraged.  Pets (unless service animals), bikes, skates, scooters and any other wheeled item (excludes wheelchairs or hand cranks by disabled participants) are prohibited. The event concludes with an awards ceremony and pancake breakfast which is included for all runners.

GROUP SIGN UP ONLINE – If you are registering as a group, you must provide the full name, birth date, gender, e-mail address, address, phone number, shirt size and emergency contact for EACH group member in order to complete the registration.  


GROUP SIGN UP REGISTRATION FORM – If you are registering as a group, you must have all completed registration forms for EACH group member and they must all be signed and turned in together.

Race day registration is available 6:15 a.m. – 7:30 a.m.

Packet Pick-Up

Pre-Registration Pick-up will be held at the Westmont Park District Community Center, 75 E. Richmond Street, Westmont on:

Thursday, May 23, 12:00pm-7:00pm

Friday, May 24, 9:00am-4:00pm

Race Day Packet Pick-Up

Race Day packet pick-up is at the Race to the Flag registration tent on 5/26/2019. This will be located at Ty Warner Park from 6:30am-7:45am.

Event Bag

All event participants receive a digital event bag.  As a participant of this year’s event you will receive an email to your Event Bag giving you access to the bag. In your event bag you will find an array of valuable information including exclusive offers, coupons and sponsor messages.  You must provide us with a valid email address to receive our invitation to access our virtual race bag.

Gear/Bag Check

There is no gear/bag check for the race, so please leave the items in your car.

Pancake Breakfast

All registrations include a Pancake Breakfast which is hosted by the Lions Club to be held immediately following the race by the registration tent. Participants must be wearing their race bib to receive their free breakfast.  Those who are not participating in the race can still enjoy the breakfast at a cost of $3.00 for children under 12, $4.00 for seniors and $5.00 for adults.


Medals will be passed out after the race at a ceremony near the registration tent.  The Top 3 overall for each gender are gun timed while the age divisions are chip timed. Medals will be awarded for overall male and female winner.  First, second and third place medals will be awarded to both male and female in the following age groups:

14 & under, 15-19, 20-24,25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74 and 75 & above.

The course will be opened by Public Works following the last participants.  The Finish line cut off will be after the last participant crosses the Finish Line or at 9:45am whichever comes first.

Medals not picked up on race day, can be picked up until July 1st at the Westmont Community Center, 75 E. Richmond St. Westmont, IL 60559.
